Injustice: Gods Among Us “Red Son” DLC Developer Diary

FINALLY, THE ROCK HAS COME BACK TO — er, we mean, FINALLY, Skyrim DLC is coming to the PlayStation 3.

(via Ubisoft Press Release)
Today, Ubisoft announced that the first two Assassin’s Creed III downloadable content packs, The Hidden Secrets and The Battle Hardened are now available for download for the Nintendo Wii U™ through the Nintendo eShop.
• The Hidden Secrets for Assassin’s Creed III adds three extra missions, including the Lost Mayan Ruins, the Ghost of War and a Dangerous Secret, for an additional hour of gameplay, taking gamers from the lost Mayan ruins to the high seas. Every successful mission is rewarded with in-game weapons. Gamers will also receive:
o Two single-player costumes including the fabled Captain of the Aquila uniform and the traditional Colonial Assassin outfit
o Two multiplayer characters including the fearsome Redcoat and the deadly Sharpshooter
• The Battle Hardened pack extends the Assassin’s Creed III multiplayer experience with new playable characters and maps:
o Three multiplayer characters including the influential Governor, the resilient Highlander and the fearsome Coyote Man
o Three multiplayer maps including Charlestown, Fort St-Mathieu and Saint Pierre
These two first DLC packs are already available for Microsoft’s Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC.
The Hidden Secrets DLC is priced at $4.99, and The Battle Hardened is priced at $9.99.
Future Assassin’s Creed III downloadable content will feature “The Tyranny of King Washington,” an all-new single-player campaign told through three episodic content packs that lets gamers experience an alternate history of the events following the American Revolution.
It’s 1783 and the American Revolution is over, but the true battle is just beginning. Blinded by a thirst for unlimited power, George Washington has declared himself King. Now, our new hero Ratohnhaké:ton must dethrone the tyrant and return freedom to the land.
Assassin’s Creed III is now available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Windows PC and the Nintendo Wii U.

Oh, YES.
Nintendo announced today that the next batch of New Super Mario Bros. 2 for the 3DS will include levels from the original Super Mario Bros., including worlds 1-1, 1-2, and 1-4 from the NES classic. The levels are FREE from now until February 1st; after that, they’ll cost $2.50 each.
We’re hoping the Wii U’s NSMB game gets similar support.

If you pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 for the Nuketown 2025 map, chances are you’re probably really ticked off right now. If not, it means you haven’t yet noticed that the multiplayer map has been pulled from the game, less than a week after launch (except in the case of the Wii U, which never got the map in the first place for some reason).
The news came via a tweet from the game’s Design Director, who added that people shouldn’t “shoot the messenger.”
It’s an odd development, since the map was touted as something customers would receive for pre-ordering, thus giving the impression that it was customers’ map to keep. Treyarch says the map will be making a return for “additional limited events” in the future.
**UPDATE** It’s back, but only in the “Chaos MoshPit” Playlist. Still no word on why the Wii U didn’t get it.

A glimmer of hope for PS3 Skyrim owners… Bethesda says they’re “close” to a solution to the problems that have kept them from releasing all that wonderful, wonderful Skyrim DLC to the PS3.
Bethesda reps aren’t giving any more details yet, but we hope to find out more soon.
PS3 Gets Exclusive Portal 2 DLC on November 6 — If you have a PlayStation Move and always wondered what Portal 2 would be like with motion controls, never fear. An all new DLC campaign is hitting the PSN for $10… if you don’t want to spend the money, there’s also a patch to allow you to play through the game as-is with motion controls as well.

If you’re a fan of multiplayer, silly hats, and games within games, you’ll want to download the latest patch for Uncharted 3. It includes hats that give you status bonuses, weapon tweaks, new character skins, and a new tournament system that lets you compete for more gear, as well as buy more entries via a microtransaction system.
Oh, and it includes 50 new trophies, 10 for each DLC pack.

Want to catch up on the entire God of War saga, but only buy one box instead of five? How about play the entire Infamous storyline, including the Festival of Blood DLC chapter?
Done. The best part, they’ll each cost $30 and hit stores on August 28th. Plus, you get a free month of Playstation Plus.
**EDIT: Oops, apparently Sony says the collections start at $30. I’m guessing the GoW collection will cost more than that.

In what may be a case of Bethesda playing it safe after what happened with the PS3 launch of Skyrim, they’re still not releasing the “let’s hunt/turn into vampires” DLC on Sony’s system just yet, saying they’re not satisfied with how it’s running. But if you’ve got Steam or an Xbox 360, you can enjoy it now.

EA announced yesterday that the next big batch of DLC for Mass Effect 3 will cost $10, be available on the Wii U at launch, and let players “discover more about the origins of the Reapers as they race across the galaxy to unravel the mystery that surrounds the fabled Leviathan.”
Apparently the story surrounds a “rogue” Reaper that takes off to do some indoctrinating on its own. You also get to drive a mech underwater, and the DLC takes place some time before the game’s finale, which shouldn’t surprise anyone, considering how the game ends.
The Wii U version of the game will also include a digital motion comic similar to the PS3 version of ME2 for those wanting to catch up on the story.
So this happened today:

And… that did not go over well with anyone except Xbox 360 users. You see, the vampiric DLC has been exclusive to the Xbox 360 for the past 31 days… the previous announcement said it’d only be exclusive until, well, yesterday, but that deadline came and went, and now Bethesda is saying… nothing. It also doesn’t help that PS3 users haven’t had the best of luck with this developer.
Disappointing, but don’t get the mob organized yet. They haven’t said it’s not coming, just not yet. Our guess? It’ll be part of the eventual Game of the Year re-release.

It took long enough, but apparently Bethesda finally remembered that a lot of people bought Skyrim for the PS3, and will be sending patch 1.6 - the one that PC and Xbox 360 users got in May - “soon.” Hopefully it works out, as they’ve been criticized in the past for how they’re treating the PS3 audience. As for the Dawnguard DLC, keep waiting… Microsoft paid to have timed exclusivity for a while.
IGN’s got a look at some potential DLC for the upcoming - and awesome-looking - Assassin’s Creed III.

There’s some new DLC on the way for Mass Effect 3 (yes, separate from yesterday’s Extended Cut release) that, if rumors prove true, could be interesting. Apparently, the DLC surrounds a “rogue” Reaper that breaks off from the group, kills one of its own, and goes off to wreak terror on its own. No word yet on whether this will take place before or after the end of the game, but seeing as how taking place afterwards is practically impossible, it probably happens before the final mission.
